DADGAD Basics

DADGAD is an alternate guitar tuning (low to high: D-A-D-G-A-D) that has rich, ringing drone notes. It is heavily use in Celtic, folk, and modern acoustic fingerstyle.

It removes the major third from the open strings, so it feels ambiguous and suspended, very resonant sound.

This hub collects all of our interactive tools, step-by-step guides, and printable reference sheets for mastering DADGAD tuning.
